As you already know FML is a fanlisting for FMyLife.com. Fmylife.com is simply a website where people post in a few sentences the crappy things that make their day shitty. If you didn't know Fmylife basically stands for Fuck My Life. All FMLs start with Today and end with FML.

Example:
Today, I farted in class. It was loud, the stink was horrible and lastly...it was much more than a fart; I messed up. FML

That's just an example FML, its never actually happened to me but maybe someone out there. The website contains awesomely hilarious FMLs, you'll find yourself choking from laughter or being able to relate to the users' experiences.
